OBJECTIVE: to find work that combines my computer and graphic design skills, such as HTML Scripter and Web Designer, preferably in an academic, health care, or non-profit environment.

EXPERIENCE

Web Developer: Collection Development, University of California, Berkeley (May 2001 - present). 20% FTE. Maintains the coding and accuracy of the links on the Library Collections, Scholarly Communication, and Scholarly Publishing websites on the public Library Web, and the Collection Development website on the Library Staff Web. Designed the Scholarly Communication, Scholarly Publishing, and Collection Development websites. Maintains an alphabetical list of web-based scholarly resources for the entire UCB Library system in HTML format. Posts reports to the electronic resource Known Problems blog and new resource trials of interest to the UCB academic community.

Web Developer: Kresge Engineering Library, University of California, Berkeley (June 1998 - present). 50% FTE. Designed the Library's website, and continues to maintain the coding and accuracy of all of the links. Designed the Center for Science and Engineering Information Literacy website, and maintains the coding and accuracy of all of the links. Installs newly published computer science technical reports in an online archive, and troubleshoots problems with access to older reports as these are reported by the general public. Member of the Proxy Server Service task force that was instrumental in making library resources formerly accessible only on computers with campus IP addresses available to faculty, students and staff using commercial providers and other computers with off-campus addresses (1999 - 2000). Member of the Library Web Advisory Group (August 2007 - present).

Multimedia artist and web producer: (1995 - present). Designed and installed an online gallery and concert hall in 1995, and continues to maintain the website.

Conference host and web developer: (1995 - present). Hosts three online conferences on the Whole Earth 'Lectronic Link (The WELL): MUDs and MUSEs; digital arts; and the conference for newcomers to The WELL. Updated the online community's website and prepared HTML templates for the use of The WELL's staff (2005 - 2006).

COMPUTER SKILLS

Knowledge of the MacOS, Linux, Unix, and Microsoft Windows (including Windows NT, 2000, and XP). Software experience includes the Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access), Photoshop, Internet applications, and many other software packages. HTML scripter, including CGI-based forms and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Some JavaScript and PHP experience.

Extension Division, the University of California
Completed the Professional Sequence in Web Design in 2000: fundamentals of website development, site design, web graphics, HTML, Dreamweaver. Additional courses in Unix, TCP/IP, multimedia, desktop design, color theory, database access from web applications.
