Comet Hale-Bopp

March 23, 1997, was a special day. In addition to being my husband Andrew's 44th birthday, it was a warm clear night during an unusually rainy and long winter. There was also a full lunar eclipse early in the night, well before bedtime, and it was accompanied by a spectacular show by Comet Hale-Bopp.
